Combeferre grew up in Paris, unlike many of his companions. Enjolras and Prouvaire, Joly and Courfeyrac, all knew the countryside; Phillipe has always been the city's child. When he was younger, he used to find his way to the rooftops, and wander there. Now, as the dedicated member of a revolutionary cause, he is invaluable, aware of places the others aren't and with friends everywhere due to his disarming manner. Sometimes, though, all the usefulness makes him feel everything depends on him.
But when that happens, he always knows how to get away from it and look at the stars.
